The Byrna SD (Self Defense) is the successor of the Byrna HD. It has been re-engineered for optimal performance. Powered by compressed air (CO2), the Byrna SD shoots .68 caliber round kinetic and/or chemical irritant projectiles that can disable a threat from up to 60-feet away. It is an incredibly powerful and non-lethal self-defense weapon.

The Byrna SD is not classified as a firearm therefore does not require a permit or background check to own. Must be 18 or older to purchase.

* This kit does not come with chemical projectiles.

Finally took it to the range yesterday and the .68 caliber rounds punch through thick cardboard like it's nothing. The compressed air system feels solid, and swapping out the CO2 cartridge took less than a minute even with my shaky hands.

The CO2 cartridge seating is noticeably smoother than my old launcher, and the .68 caliber rounds feed without a single jam across a full afternoon of shooting. Honestly, the re-engineered grip makes one-handed operation feel far more stable than I expected for a compressed-air system.

Took it to the range on Sunday and the .68 caliber rounds hit exactly where I aimed at about 20 feet. The compressed air system feels solid, and swapping out the CO2 between mags was way less fiddly than I expected.
